Bumjoon Kee

Bumjoon Kee recently completed his Professional Science Master’s in Environmental Sciences at Oregon State University, focusing on water resource management, GIS, and isotope hydrology. His internship research, conducted with the Ecohydro Engineering Group, involved analyzing evaporation-to-inflow ratios in irrigation canals using stable isotope data and spatial modeling. With a background in e-commerce and international logistics, he brings a multidisciplinary perspective to environmental problem-solving and is passionate about improving water sustainability in agricultural systems.

Wood Innovation for Sustainability (PSM)

The Wood Innovation for Sustainability (WINS) degree is an integrated curriculum designed to provide advanced, professional training in five areas: Core knowledge in wood science; key innovation areas in the wood industry, which depending on the specific track will focus on mass timber industry or circular economy; engineering and business technical skills; Communication, management skills and abilities; and professional responsibility and ethics.

Alan Sanchez - Beaver GRADs

Alan Sanchez's passion for building useful tools began in childhood and culminates this spring with a Ph.D. in robotics at Oregon State University. Alan (he/him) remembers helping his grandfather at his machine shop. "I was so excited because the idea of building useful tools from scratch was novel and exciting," he said.

Andres De Los Santos - Beaver GRADs

My name is Andres De Los Santos, I am graduating with an M.A. in Communication. Mya Kraus - Beaver GRADs

Happy finals week, Beavs! This week, we will be sharing graduate students who are graduating this year. "Hi my name is Mya and I’m graduating with a Master of Arts in History. I had the great opportunity to teach dance within the Physical Activity Course program this last year of my time here and it has been life changing.

Lindsey Roberts

How can researchers enhance their data analysis skills? For Lindsey Roberts (she/her), the answer is graduate school.
As a second year Fisheries Science student at Oregon State, Lindsey also works as a graduate research assistant for the James T. Peterson Lab in the Oregon Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. She says she is grateful for the opportunity to develop her own sample and collection of data, as well as to gain "invaluable experience in data interpolation and evaluation — exactly what [she] was looking for"

Sarah Cabellero

One way to see if you fully understand your research is if you can teach it to others. Sarah Caballero (she/her), a Ph.D. student studying food science and technology at Oregon State University, did just that.

Sarah took home third place at the Regional Three Minute Thesis Competition in Denver, CO. Three Minute Thesis® (3MT) is a program created by the University of Queensland that challenges students to present their research using one slide and three minutes of talking time.

Olivia Schultz

As a graduate teaching assistant, Olivia Schultz (They/Them/She/Her) looks to her students for motivation. They also recognize the privilege of higher education, “I believe that creating accessibility within higher education is significant to providing the public with more information of the impacts of the work we perform.”
