Reminders for graduating students
Commencement ceremonies will be held on Saturday, June 14, in Corvallis, and Sunday, June 15, at OSU-Cascades. Visit the commencement page for participation and deadline information.
For doctoral students only: Final reminder: to ensure your name is announced correctly at commencement, we will be utilizing the NameCoach platform. You will have received an email invitation from the Office of Graduate Education with a request to record your name as indicated on your diploma application. Log in to NameCoach using your ONID. Please speak naturally and clearly and leave any helpful pronunciation notes in the platform.
If you have utilized this platform in Canvas and have recorded a less formal version of your name for the classroom setting, you will have an opportunity to review or re-record your formal name for the commencement ceremony.

Grads Give Back Gown Share:
Gowns can be donated on Commencement Day outside of Reser Stadium, at the Valley Library, or year-round at the Memorial Union.

Graduate Writing Center Summer NSF Writing Circle
The Graduate Writing Center has piloted a new three-part series of workshops designed to help those interested in applying for the National Science Fund (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship Program. As part of this initiative, a summer writing circle has been formed to provide a regular space for working and getting feedback on NSF GRFP applications. Anyone who would like to join the circle can contact the GWC director, Tait Bergstrom at [email protected].

GRAD 520 - Responsible Conduct of Research (2 credits, online)
Covers 10 topics in responsible conduct of research: ethical decision making; human subjects; animal welfare; data acquisition; sharing and ownership; research misconduct; conflicts of interest; authorship; peer review; mentor/trainee responsibilities; and collaborative science. Useful to all students who conduct scholarly activity.

WR 573 - Thesis and Dissertation Writing (3 credits, Corvallis)
If you are struggling with writing your thesis or dissertation, this course provides you with a clear roadmap to success. We'll demystify the process by first identifying the expectations for a high-quality thesis/dissertation in your field. Then, we'll analyze how to meet those expectations through effective writing strategies. Leave the drama behind and craft a compelling piece of scholarly work.

Rigor, reproducibility and data management practices
College of Health and the Office of Research Integrity are hosting a nine-month Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Program on the first Friday of each month. Complete your RCR training requirements in monthly sessions with presentations by OSU faculty and staff. This program will allow recipients of NIH career development and training grants to meet their 8-hour, face-to-face training obligations, and for other researchers to meet their requirements and recommendations from other funding agencies. All are welcome to attend.

Immigration Attorney Session: Finding the Right Path
Immigration Attorney Kathleen Gasparian from Gasparian Spivey Immigration will be providing a session for international students on post-graduation immigration options. She will discuss the current landscape for work visas in the US and options for employment-based immigration sponsorship. This session will also touch on travel questions.
