Oregon State University participates in the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP), an agreement between participating public universities in 18 western states and territories providing admitted students from these states and territories the opportunity to enroll in select graduate programs at a discount down to 100% of resident tuition instead of the full nonresident fees beginning Summer 2025. You may be eligible to save around $18,500 a year in tuition.
Eligibility for WRGP discount is limited to study at Corvallis and Cascades campuses only. Students may enroll in Ecampus classes, but the discount will not apply for Ecampus classes. Currently, Ecampus classes are charged the same tuition rate regardless of residency.

Frequently asked questions
- What documents can I submit to prove my residency?
- You can submit a copy of your driver’s license or state issued ID.
- What if I become an Oregon resident during my study?
- If you become an Oregon resident, you will be eligible for in-state tuition, which is at the same rate as the WRGP discount.
- I’m getting funding my first term, should I still complete the WRGP question on my application?
- Yes, this will ensure you receive the 100% resident tuition rate after your funding ends.
- What if I am already a student at Oregon State? Can I apply for WRGP tuition reduction?
- No, only students entering their first term as a graduate student at Oregon State are eligible.
- What if I change my degree program? Will I get to keep my WRGP tuition rate?
- No, WRGP is only for the program you initially applied.
- What if I enroll in Ecampus, will the discount apply?
- No. Currently Ecampus classes are charged the same tuition rate regardless of residency.
- What if I am a current OSU graduate student or applying for a term prior to Summer 2025 who is receiving the previous 150% rate, will I be eligible to receive the larger tuition reduction?
- No, you will not be eligible to receive the new 100% resident tuition rate. The new tuition rate will be applied only for new students beginning Summer 2025. All current WRGP students tuition rate will remain at 150% through the completion of their program, which represents a savings of around $11,500 a year in tuition.
