Harshil Patel is a highly motivated and skilled graduate student completed the Professional Science Master’s degree program in Environmental Sciences with concentration in water resources at Oregon State University during the Spring 2024 term. With a solid academic background that includes a Master of Science in Chemistry from Indrashil University, Gujarat, India, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Gujarat University, Harshil has developed a profound understanding of environmental and chemical sciences. Harshil’s research interests lie in the intersection of environmental science and analytical chemistry, with a focus on water quality and advanced wastewater treatment technologies. He worked as a Research Intern at Oregon State University, where he investigates the transport of antibiotics through ion exchange membranes during electrodialysis treatment of anaerobic effluent. His work involves designing and performing lab experiments, analyzing samples using advanced analytical instrumentation, and developing strategies to enhance contaminant rejection and membrane performance. Prior to this, Harshil gained valuable industry experience as a Scientist II at Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited in Gujarat, India. In this role, he led analytical method optimization projects, managed laboratory compliance, and contributed to the development and validation of HPLC and GC methods. Harshil’s career goals include advancing the field of environmental science through innovative research and technology development. He aims to work with leading research institutions and industry partners to address critical environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices.
