Alternative Summative Assessments

The Graduate Council clarified that an alternative summative assessment proposal may be brought forth for any non-thesis master’s degree. The proposal may offer exceptions to the form of the assessment, typically an alternative to the two-hour oral examination, and/or to the composition of the reviewing committee, currently set at a minimum of three graduate faculty. Proposals should be submitted through the CIM - miscellaneous proposal type.
