Bill Buckley

After completing my undergraduate degree I worked for two years with Six Rivers National Forest, in the Fisheries and Hydrology department, through the AmeriCorps Watershed Stewards Project. Through this experience I became interested in watershed restoration, endangered species habitat, and GIS. After this experience I moved up to Portland Oregon where I worked for three years with the City of Portland Parks and Recreation department as a Botanic Technician, in their “Protect the Best” program, doing on-the-ground restoration actions through invasive species eradication. Volunteering and mentoring are important to me and have given me great satisfaction after donating my time to several local watershed non-profits in the Portland metro area and north coast of California. These valuable experiences combined with my love of fresh, clean water have motivated me to continue my education in order to facilitate a rewarding career as a wetland restoration ecologist.
