K-Andrea Evarose (“K”) is a Solid Waste Technical Analyst with the Office of Planning and Development under the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Office of the Governor. Working alongside local partners and with guidance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, she contributed to the development of the CNMI’s first Comprehensive Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan (CISWMP), which has been approved by the EPA and is now being implemented across the Commonwealth. Originally from the Federated States of Micronesia, K is a Gates Millennium Scholar and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Francis College Brooklyn and a master’s degree in environmental sciences from Oregon State University, with a focus on natural resources. Her background includes environmental and community reporting, as well as international fellowship work supporting environmental initiatives relevant to island communities. She currently resides in the CNMI with her life partner and their two cats.
